Former Brazilian International footballer Ronaldinho says that U-17 World Cup in India can be crucial for many young players. The legendary footballer is currently featuring in the Premier Futsal tournament in the host country, playing for the Delhi Dragons.

“The U-17 world cup is a very special tournament for me. It opened the door for my professional career.I was lucky enough not only to take part in the competition but also to win it too. I can honestly say that it opened the door for my professional career” said Ronaldinho, who is the only player to have won both FIFA u-17 World Cup(1997) and FIFA World Cup Finals(2002) titles.
The Brazilian has almost won every title in his decorated career which lasted for more than 20 years. The 2002 FIFA world cup, the FIFA confederation cup 2005 and the UEFA Champions League in 2006 are his major achievements.
The former Barcelona and PSG legend quoted that “The U-17 World Cup can be crucial as for many players it marks the start of their career. Young players try to make it big, and this competition gives those players a fantastic opportunity to make that dream come true. It got my career off to a wonderful start and will always be close to my heart”.
The current ambassador of FC Barcelona also recalled his golden days and said “The most wonderful moment of the tournament was when we became world champions and got to lift the trophy. It was something Brazil has never done before and experiencing something like that was wonderful“.
The 37-year-old attacking midfielder has 97 caps for his country and found the back of the net on 33 occasions.
